Recycle mobile phones when your next upgrade is due
Not everybody understands why it is so important for the environment to recycle their phones for cash; however, there are a number of hazardous components within a handset that cause damage to our environment. Those people who do not choose to recycle mobile phones (of which there seems to be far too many) are adding to the large quantity of discarded handsets in landfill sites. The problem with this is that it causes considerable and significant toxic contamination caused by the long-term effects of some of the aforementioned substances leaking into the ground and contaminating surrounding soil. Many mobile phone recycling schemes include the recovery and reuse of various parts from handsets and their accessories. These include metal recovery (including semi-precious and precious metals). When you sell your mobile for recycling it will go through a process that will grind down the isolated metal components to make them recyclable; often these metals come from the mobile phone batteries
